Assembling panels with different parts and different boxes is a very important process to get a good result. By following this procedure, a verification of the composition is made in a more harmonious and pleasant way before the laying.
To facilitate laying and to ensure a better aesthetic result, proper leveling is key. But, remember, the adhesive mortar should not be used to correct imperfections of the base, just to glue the ceramic tile.
At Grupo Embramaco we produce the best porcelain tiles on the market. But to have a good result, in addition to quality products, mortars are also imperative for the laying and ceramic coating. These are the four types of adhesive mortar:
AC-I: Adhesive mortar for internal use;
AC-II: Adhesive mortar for internal and external use;
AC-III: High-strength adhesive mortar;
AC-III E: Special adhesive mortar.
We indicate the ideal type of mortar for each product in our packaging.
The seating joints indicated are spaces between the ceramic tiles. For rectified products, the recommended minimum joint is 2mm. For others, we highlight the ideal joint in the packaging according to the format of the product.
Before grouting, tap lightly with the hammer handle or a piece of wood on each tile. If the tile emits a hollow sound, remove and lay the tile again, avoiding the risk of a future detachment.
Please wait 72 hours after laying the tiles.
On floors with rustic texture, a layer of colorless liquid wax should be passed only near the edges of the grout. It is not advisable to spread over the entire tile before grouting. Wipe with a damp sponge before drying, and then immediately wipe with a dry cloth.
When cleaning ceramic tiles do not use acids or abrasive materials. The chemical attack corrodes the glazing, compromising the waterproof seal of the product, as well as providing irreversible damages to the surface and allowing the entry of aggressive agents under the glaze.
Clean the surface before laying. While laying, protect the area with cardboard or tarp to avoid direct contact with abrasive agents – especially sand, as it may cause scratches. Grupo Embramaco recommends the usage of doormats to prevent the ingress of pollutants into the environment in the soles of the shoes.
From the English language, Porcelain Enamel Institute, PEI is an index that classifies ceramics according to their resistance to abrasion of the enamelled surface, caused by traffic of people, contact with abrasive dirt, and even by the movement of objects.
There are five types of PEI classification:
PEI 1: Usage as wall tiles only
PEI 2: Low traffic
PEI 3: Medium traffic
PEI 4: High traffic
PEI 5: Very high traffic
Rectified products pass through diamond grinding wheels, giving them precise dimensions. This process is called rectification, and allows the final dimensions to be more precise. Rectified tiles can be laid with smaller joints, which provide better aesthetic result.
Chemical attack is a wear or corrosion caused by improper use of chemicals during cleaning and / or maintenance of the floor. This process makes the coating porous, causing loss of gloss and matte spots. The chemical attack is irreversible and the solution is the removal and replacement of damaged parts.
